The Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking for a Specialist. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out all the intellectual and practical aspects of running the Atabai lab. Responsibilities will include the design and implementation of common lab and new research methodologies, the carrying out of in vitro and in vivo experiments including critical data analysis, aid in writing grants and research manuscripts, helping other postdoctoral fellows in the laboratory with their projects both from an intellectual and practical viewpoint, and running the weekly laboratory meeting including providing critical insight into others presentations.
Required Qualifications: • Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) in the Science field. • A track record of success in laboratory-based mechanistic research as evidenced by successful publication in high-impact biomedical journals and success in procuring grant support.
Preferred Qualification: • Post-graduate training in the field.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
