The Emergency/Trauma section of the Yale Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging prides itself on providing a progressive approach to high quality, contemporaneous imaging expertise in the emergency setting. We are a multispecialty group whose practice includes a large inpatient unit (with average daily census of 1168), a level one trauma center, several urgent care and freestanding Emergency Department sites, in addition to partial coverage of the VA West Haven Medical Center Emergency Department. We are now looking for two additional dedicated attendings to join our growing team.
The Yale program has been providing in-house, contemporaneous 24 X 7 imaging interpretations by attendings for our Emergency/Trauma patients for over 20 years and we are recognized as world leaders in the academic practice of emergency radiology. We cover off hour inpatient examinations and 24-hour emergency examinations with final reporting available to clinicians at all times. Our team includes 13 exclusive attending emergency radiologists, residents, Radiology Assistants and a Medical Student triage team. Our group has a track record of collaborative emergency radiology related research, flexibility in scheduling shifts, and a commitment to the best clinical care. Our primary sites of coverage, are at the main Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Raphael Campuses, both of which are centrally located in New Haven, a vibrant and engaging University town.
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine invites applications for a board eligible/certified Emergency/Trauma Radiologist with fellowship training (Trauma/ER, Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal or Neuroradiology training preferred) for a full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on our Clinical Track. A strong interest in clinical care and education (undergraduate medical and graduate medical) is required. Exemplary clinical skills and a commitment to expand the range and quality of service’s provided are essential for promotion. A candidate’s willingness to collaborate on scholarly output in their area of interest, would be an advantage.
Clinical responsibilities include CT, ultrasound, plain radiography and emergency fluoroscopic studies.
