Responsibilities include educating the student-athletes on proper lifting techniques. Must be able to design and implement sound, sports specific program. Must have designed and implemented program for a variety of sports. Demonstrate a strong passion and energy to help motivate student-athletes. Current knowledge of the latest trends and technology to track student-athlete progress. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the university, Big 10 Conference, and the NCAA. Willing to perform administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Sports Performance and Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance. Must have a positive coaching style and willingness to work and to invest the needed time to develop the student-athlete, which will include long hours and weekends. Professional attributes needed for position include great communication skills with administrators, sport coaches, student-athletes, sports medicine staff, nutrition department, and sports science staff, as well as other strength coaches. May require successful completion of a criminal background check. In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17 this position has been designated as a standby position.
Bachelor’s degree in physical education or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program. Ability to work with a diverse population and provide a supportive and motivating environment for student athletes.
Knowledge and experience working with PC computer applications in a windows environment. Experience with spreadsheet applications.
Target Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
