Responsible for providing excellent customer service as the first encounter for clients into the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). Those duties focus on resolving client relations concerns, providing basic and complex information, ensuring successful access and registration into the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). The position provides client relations activities by navigating complex protocols, phone systems, and the VMC organizational structure to provide patient and hospital information to faculty, residents, students, clients, visitors and referring veterinarians including available services. Services include client financial responsibilities, which involves discussing client financial liability and collection of payment for services; directions; guidance on the referral process; solving access and financial problems; providing guidance on navigating the patient care structure; scheduling of future patient appointments, and managing customer inquiries directly or by phone acting as a client advocate, performing reception functions, reviewing and auditing of medical records, and managing client expectations. This position serves as a point of entry into the VMC within a designated area or via the call center supporting clients, visitors, and referring veterinarians.
The position is cross trained to perform specific duties and responsibilities for various entry points in the medical center. Hours are primarily second shift, Sunday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm, but may vary and is based on organizational needs of a 24/7 veterinary medical center. Requires the completion of a background check and credit check.
Bachelor's degree in a Biological /Health Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Knowledge of medical communications and terminology.
Two years of experience in a customer services, healthcare or veterinary care environment; Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with consumers, visitors, clinicians, technicians, and all other medical center faculty and staff; experience in analyzing and interpreting information; experience with electronic medical records systems and/or at least experience operating computers.
Target Salary: $15.00 - $17.52 Hourly
