The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at The Ohio State University is a dynamic and exciting place to be. The program coordinator reports to the associate director of Academic Relations and Competitive Admissions. The individual will work most directly with a team of three full-time staff and will be part of a larger area staff of ten within the broader Undergraduate Admissions team of 55 full-time staff. The Academic Relations and Competitive Admissions area is responsible for the development and management of strategies and tactics to support and increase the involvement of academic colleges and departments in the recruitment of prospective undergraduate students and it also manages the comprehensive holistic review process for first-year applications to Ohio State's Columbus campus. The program coordinator position serves as an essential contributor to this mission critical work.
The Program Coordinator in Undergraduate Admissions plans and manages recruitment publication production by working directly with colleges and academic units to develop and edit academic recruitment publications. Maintains strong working relationships with colleges and departments to verifies accuracy of content in communications and ensure alignment with recruitment guidelines and messaging. Compiles reports to support department recruitment efforts. Schedules and leads meetings regarding specialized recruitment processes with various campus partners. Uses databases to produce reports, design production schedules, and facilitate recruitment information management. Uploads data for analysis to determine distribution quantities. On behalf of colleges and academic units, the program coordinator uploads academic communications such as direct enrollment letters and academic packets to the student information system. Manages a variety of electronic workflows to ensure programs with special applications receive appropriate communications. Coordinates with academic units and Undergraduate Admission staff to assist in the research, planning and execution of recruitment initiatives. Responsible for maintaining an understanding of college and department direct enrollment criteria and policies. Assists with on and off-campus recruitment events, programs and projects. Supports the planning and implementing of admissions application reviewer training and coaching by assessing yearly goals and measurable outcomes. Assists with application review management to ensure applications continue through the workflow by resolving errors and comments, as needed. Reviews applications (domestic, international, transfer, special population) through our holistic application review process. Uses demonstrated knowledge and experience with databases to design and execute data queries using internal data management tools. Learns and uses the Empowering Market Analysis (EMA), CRM, student information system, and other technologies to inform and support work. Maintains an understanding of admissions policies, procedures and student data related to recruitment. This position will have occasional travel and work nights and/or weekends. Oversees the interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and ongoing development of 2-5 student employees. Participates as an active member of Undergraduate Admissions through membership on committees. Complete special assignments and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated ability to collaborate and work independently; considerable program/project planning and implementation; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; high degree of organizational skills and the ability to swiftly and adeptly manage multiple projects and shifting priorities at one time; demonstrated ability to execute data queries, develop reports and utilize technologies to inform and support work; 1-3 years of experience in admissions or university-level academic college/department.
Master’s degree in an appropriate field; work experience at a college/university, admissions preferred; experience working and interacting with an admission application review process.
Target Salary: $19.24 - $21.64 Hourly
