Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming or closely related area; or
Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in operations analysis and design, systems programming, or closely related area; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide system administration, development and advanced technical support for a wide variety of computer systems. This includes the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the research, implementation maintenance and troubleshooting of various Linux configurations.
Installation and configuration of servers and/or virtual servers and server based applications to help keep these machines and applications up to date, secure and performing optimally (these servers and/or virtual servers and applications are based on various Linux operating systems such as RHEL and CentOS in physical, virtual and cloud environments).
Conduct work of patching, configuring, securing, and monitoring various server installations.
Collaborate with other members and units of Information Technology Services to implement other enterprise wide applications and services and to build and maintain an infrastructure from which these services and applications will be delivered.
Act as Google Apps administrator responsible for managing Google Apps for Education through Google administrative interfaces and command line tools such as GAM.
Work with Ansible software to ensure a standard deployment is done that it can be easily audited.
Linux based mail system administration experience is strongly desired.
Experience in the following areas: Email administration, Google Apps Administrator, Linux server administration, web server administration, content management systems, course management systems.
Experience in the area of Web development using Tomcat, Java, Python, PHP or Ruby.
