The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Florham (Madison, NJ) campus is accepting applications for a tenure-track position in Entrepreneurship at the Assistant Professor rank with a Fall 2020 start date. The position is subject to budgetary approval.
Our entrepreneurship curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in the principles of entrepreneurial thinking, practice and decision-making. Among the classes the successful candidate will be expected to teach are business planning and entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurial finance, and entrepreneurship and innovation. Fairleigh Dickinson, founded in 1942, is a private, coeducational university with an enrollment of more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the United States and the world. The Metropolitan Campus is located 10 miles from the heart of New York City, and the College of Florham Campus is located 35 miles from New York City, near historic Morristown, New Jersey. The University also has overseas campuses in Wroxton, England and Vancouver, British Columbia. Silberman College of Business, with more than 1,400 students on its New Jersey campuses, regularly partners with the NJ and NYC business community in delivering globally-oriented business education programs. The College is home to the nationally recognized Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution with evidence of or potential for high quality teaching and scholarship. Professional experience with or a research interest relating to social entrepreneurship or family businesses is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester, assuming a faculty has qualified for release time for research. Summer research support opportunities are available. Salary and benefits are competitive with AACSB accredited institutions. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
