University of Michigan-Flint School of Management seeks an energetic and outgoing individual to perform full-time Administrative Assistant duties 40 hours per week. Major duties and responsibilities are described below:
Receptionist duties include answering phone and email inquiries, faxing, greeting guests, scheduling appointments, distributing incoming mail/packages, assisting with outgoing mail, stocking supplies and inventory, and maintaining the order in reception area, supply and mail rooms.
Student Advising assistance duties include assisting school's academic advisors with data entry, analysis and reports on retention and probation, assisting with walk-in advising, printing CAPP reports and other advising related assignments.
Assist faculty and staff with various administrative duties include scanning files, filing and shredding documents, mail-merging, putting program information documents and student communication envelopes together, and prospective student mailing and data entry, other projects given by staff such as proctoring make-up exams, creating office hour signs, and printing exams.
Events Assistance duties including hanging event flyers, assisting with school's various events, and discarding old flyers/posters and other duties as assigned.
High School graduate or equivalent
Must have 3-4 years of administrative experience
Ability to work professionally and serve as a representative of the School of Management
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and reception skills
Ability to take calls, route appropriately, take messages or respond to the inquiry/request for information
Ability to work effectively as a team player and to work independently as required
Ability to multitask, take direction and demonstrate flexibility
Willingness to learn as required to perform responsibilities of position (advising assistance)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
More than 4 years administrative experience preferred
Experience in Banner/Imagenow preferred.
Prior work experience in an academic institution preferred
