1. Provides the dietary and nutritional consultations to members of the University Health Services based on referrals by health care providers or specialist. 2. Assesses patients' dietary requirements and recommends general diet and menu plans consistent with patients' needs. 3. Makes daily rounds through the Intermediate Care Facility and provides consultations. 4. Oversees the development of special needs menus for the Intermediate Care Facility. 5. Develops and directs a program of health education on dietary issues, including group sessions for members, a library of related materials, and in-house educational sessions for staff. 6. Provides training and education to Intermediate Care Facilities staff on dietary and nutritional deficiency issues. 7. Assists with the development and maintenance of a quality assurance program for the department's dietary and nutritional services. 8. Relays special dietary and menu information to patients and other members of the University Health Services, incorporating factors unrelated to the specific problem or symptom, such as food allergies, medicinal interactions with food, and other health issues. 9. Shares responsibility for overall food quality at the University Health Services.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree; member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; certified specialist in Sports Dietetics.
