POSITIONSUMMARY: The Donor Relations and Major Gifts Coordinator is a relationship manager responsible for development and implementation of appropriate practices and procedures for stewardship of donors to St. Louis Community College Foundation. The Donor Relations and Major Gifts Coordinator will also design, develop and implement a major gift program and be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift prospects, as well as identifying new prospects. An ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate the STLCC mission is key. He/she reports to the Executive Director of the Foundation and works closely with the foundation team and board to recognize donors through personal, timely, accurate and professional strategies that enhance the future relationship of donors with the College and Foundation.
Manages a portfolio of major donors and friends in partnership with the Executive Director and other College leaders of up to 100 donors and prospects.
Develops and implements the College and Foundation stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors and at all levels.
Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization.
Create and implement moves management plans.
Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board and other staff with their solicitation (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications).
Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition.
Oversees enforcement of named giving opportunities for the Foundation and College.
Conducts prospect research and maintains major donor profiles with accurate gift and personal information.
Manages donor recognition and cultivation events, including donor meetings with the Chancellor and other College leadership.
Oversees the logistics of donor recognition (e.g., signage, etc.).
Participates in prospect action/strategy team meetings with Foundation staff.
Helps develop specialized stewardship plans for specific donor segments.
Records and maintains stewardship and fulfillment information in the donor database including event benefits.
Track and report progress using specific metrics.
Two to four years of relevant stewardship and donor cultivation experience. Proven record of successful major gift solicitation. Ability to generate creative solutions for stewarding donors in order to advance St. Louis Community College Foundation's efforts to maintain and strengthen high-quality individual relationships with donors. Ability to think strategically about donor engagement and a broad-based knowledge of fundraising. Strategic problem-solver with the ability to advance programs/activities with an array of internal constituents. Organized, energetic, flexible and computer proficient. Ability and willingness to learn and effectively utilize donor databases. Command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Initiates and has the ability to work independently. Bachelor's degree is required.
