Qualifications REQUIRED -Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training. -Advanced technical project management concepts with a full understanding of project management practices and IT policies and procedures to manage complex projects.
PREFERRED -Experience with Laboratory and Pathology applications. -Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. -Experience working with healthcare information systems; academic institutions or large integrated health system experience. . -Knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. -Knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives. -Experience leading a team of technology professionals. -Knowledge of most aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations and disaster recovery. Responsibilities The Technical Project Manager (Technical Project Management Professional 4) provides direction, leadership and project management for a wide variety of technical projects. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for management of complex small to large sized projects and administrative analysis for all entities within UC Davis Health.
The Technical Project Manager works in conjunction with the information technology liaison to coordinate and prioritize projects in accordance with departmental needs, involves key stakeholders, removes barriers and ensures projects are completed according to timelines; works with departmental procurement staff to identify facility and/or IT requirements associated with equipment replacement or new technology purchases; and facilitates implementation between department technical supervisors, Facility Design and Construction and Clinical Engineering.
