Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking Advanced Practice Nurses for the Outpatient Department at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to serve as an expert in the delivery of advanced nursing care. Functions collaboratively within the treatment team to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services to clients. Demonstrates competency according to the American Nursing Association Advanced Practice Standards for Psychiatric Nursing.
Maintains the standard of clinical practice adapted by the American Nurses Association and ensures that nursing care meets the national standards for the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Formulates and implements an appropriate plan of treatment for clients in own caseload, and participates with treatment team, in the development of treatment plans on shared clients as needed.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care throughout the course of treatment, including collecting and monitoring outcome data within specified time frames.
Provides psychotherapeutic intervention, including crisis intervention and health teaching to clients.
Assists in the development of protocols for specific psychiatric patient population.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Masters Degree in Nursing.
At least two (2) years of nursing experience.
Must have Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Nurse Practitioner) in psychiatric mental health nursing and current NJ Board of Nursing Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have the ability to write prescriptions.
Must have Controlled Dangerous Substances Registration Number.
Must have Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Number.
Two (2) years of Advanced Practice Nurse experience.
The work locations for these positions will be in New Brunswick, Edison or Newark.
