Responsible for all of the investment and endowment accounting functions related to Miami University and the Miami University Foundation.
Performs all endowment and investment accounting tasks for Miami University and the Miami University Foundation. Examples include establishment of new accounts, unitization of endowments, recording of journal entries, and monitoring accounting and transaction activity.
Performs the monthly reconciliation of all investment accounts to the general ledger, University Advancement’s records of gifts receipted to amounts recorded in the general ledger, and resolves any differences.
Provides information for and helps prepare the University’s and Foundation’s annual financial statements. Prepares audit schedules, liaisons with external audit team, and responds to auditors’ inquiries.
Updates and reconciles endowment records in Fundriver. Calculates and records the annual endowment distribution of income to each individual expendable account, along with the administrative fee. Prepares mid-year estimates and year-end actual reports for the determination of available scholarship funds and for dissemination to effected Deans and Vice Presidents.
Works with University Advancement staff on non-routine gift accounting matters, including the recording of complex gifts, accounting for trusts, accounting for separately invested gifts, and recording pledges.
