The Middle College Program Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all aspects of the Middle College Program. The incumbent provides diversified administrative and technical support services. Principal responsibilities include technical management and troubleshooting of the online registration system, coordination of daily program tasks, assisting with the course creation and registration process, and provide customer service to students, parents, faculty and staff at FDU and participating high schools. The Middle College Program Specialist reports to the Senior Program Director of Middle College and Saturday College and receives general supervision concerning methods, procedures and policies. The incumbent is expected to work independently on assigned projects.
2.A minimum of two years of administrative experience in a complex office environment or similar experience, including office operations oversight and coordination responsibilities. Experience should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the functions of a program operation. Prior experience working in a college or university setting is a plus.
3.Computer proficiency for word processing, spreadsheet, and data management applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with Ellucian products such as Colleague is a plus. Ability to learn other software as required.
4.Comfortable troubleshooting and solving technical issues.
5.Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6.Must be comfortable providing friendly customer service
7.Ability to be a productive team player.
8.Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours as necessary, including occasional evenings and weekends.
9.Valid driver’s license and accessibility to transportation for travel to other campuses and off-campus sites as required.
10.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
