Essential Functions: Teach courses in Counselor Education's Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling areas. Help run pre-practicum, practicum, and internship training.Help manage daily program operations. Advise, mentor, and help recruit and retain students.Contribute to the ongoing innovation of impactful programs, including help build new programs and expand current programs.Contribute to college and university service activities.
Qualifications: Applicants must have earned a Master's in Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program and be eligible for both the LPC and CRC credentials. A successful applicant will have been trained in best practices in Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling, have experience or strong interest in teaching and mentoring future counselors and rehabilitation counselors, and a willingness to interact with faculty and organizations at both state and national levels over training issues. Ability to commit to and balance time for service at department, college, and university levels is also expected. Also critical to working in our urban context in both training and one's program of research, are a strong understanding of multicultural approaches and social justice, as well as a deep commitment to diversity issues and cultural competence.
