Associate Director of Event Services - Marin Campus (San Francisco) University of Redlands

DESCRIPTION: Works closely with the Director of Event Services in managing the daily operations of the Marin campus events department in supporting the University and local community's events and activities.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provides the initial contact for internal VIP clients requesting facilities, researches dates, times, locations and equipment requests, meets with clients regarding contracted needs.
Manages event logistics and work flow to assure all events are coordinated and reviewed for flawless execution: coordinate appropriate post-event follow-up and evaluation.
Responsible for all adherences to safety, ADA, alcohol, insurance, fire and State of California laws pertaining to event management.
Manages the Marin Events Services staff that is wholly responsible for producing event details and timelines. This would also include diagrams, subrentals and timelines for events.
Represents the Event Services Department in Planning Campus Wide Events/Initiatives such as New Student Orientation, Admitted Students Day, Alumni Reunion Weekend and Commencement.
Be the housing liaison and provide reports and information as needed about campus lodging and housing.
Attends committee meetings on campus as an Event Services Leader.
Manage department budget.
Assist the Director with pricing of external lodging and space rental.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree is required, related experience in lieu of education will be accepted. A minimum of five (5) years of management experience is required. Selected candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, high level of independent judgment; proven and effective management and supervisory skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability to function well independently and as part of a team; skills for adapting to a quickly changing, fast paced environment; and must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
