The college is looking for a Programming Coordinator for our North Hudson Campus to join the office of Student Life and Leadership. Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Student Life and Leadership, the Programming Coordinator for the North Hudson Campus office of Student Life and Leadership will manage the development, implementation and effectiveness of student life programs and coordinate programs and services to fulfill the social, intellectual, and recreational interests of students to meet the goals and objectives of the Student Life and Leadership Department.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Life and Leadership at the North Hudson Campus located in Union City, NJ, which includes keeping the office clean, organized and professional, and ensuring that customer service stays top priority, assisting and resolving any issues that students may have.
Develop and execute social, educational, cultural, and traditional programming opportunities for the North Hudson Campus, ensuring that events meet the office's Learning Outcomes. Event execution includes acquiring invoices from all vendors, room set-ups, and staffing.
Work in conjunction with Associate Director of Student Life and Leadership to build club presence and leadership opportunities at the North Hudson Campus, with goal to continually build student-led clubs, branches of clubs, and support membership of campus-wide honor societies.
Organize civic engagement opportunities for the office, serving both campuses, as well as the surrounding communities.
Plan social, educational, cultural and diverse off-campus opportunities, from creation to promotion to execution, recruiting faculty and staff chaperones, but ultimately serving as head chaperone as needed.
Serve as Co-Advisor to the HCCC Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, working alongside NHC Student Development Associate to staff leadership development events and promote/recruit students into the chapter.
In conjunction with the Office of Student Life and Leadership, work to execute New Student Orientation on both campuses, developing ideas and staffing the events.
Along with the Program Assistant of Student Life and Leadership, supervise Federal Work Study and any other student leaders working in the office, which may include interviewing, training, and monitoring.
Develop relationships with faculty and staff located at the campus, collaborating on co-curricular opportunities for the students.
Serve on committees as it relates to position.
Consistently stay on top of trends within programming and leadership development, bringing forward new ideas and projects.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in Higher/Public Education. Master's degree in higher education preferred.
At least two years of experience working in leadership development, event management, or marketing in higher education
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Self-starter with little need for supervision
Previous Experience in Student Activities/Leadership Development
Enrollment or recent graduation from a Higher Education/Counseling/Other Relatable field MA program
Experience in leading programs or leadership/skill-building workshops
High relationship building skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of various computer programs, i.e. MS Office, Outlook, Adobe, etc.
Knowledge of various marketing and advertising outlets, especially social media
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Previous experience planning/facilitating large- and small-scale events and/or working with vendors preferable
Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere
