The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program at the School of Nursing provides an opportunity for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in the state's higher education program. In over 45 years of existence, the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Program has been the single most important vehicle for low income and minority access to higher education.
Under the direction of the SN-EOF Director, Summer Program Director and in conjunction with peers summer staff will assume the following responsibilities:
1.Provide support to instructor for specific a course.
2.Attend a weekly Student Brown Bag meeting Mondays 12:00pm-1:00pm.
3.Provide Individual/Group tutorial sessions for a specific course.
4.Co-facilitate a weekly meeting with the Residential life Coordinator, Summer Program Coordinator and peer staff to discuss current issues. (Student Staff Meeting 7:00-7:30, Mentorship Mix 7:30-8:00 Rap Session, 8:00-9:00pm).
5.Provide overall coverage as needed outside of the residence hall.
6.Serve as a liaison between the Professional Staff and the Initial students.
7.Must live in the residence hall in order to work with Initial students after hours in order to assist them by: a.Enforcing program expectations and housing rules b.Providing coverage for curfew and random room checks. c.Providing coverage for monitoring group study sessions d.Assisting with questions about current assignments as needed e.Encouraging students to actively participate in group sessions f.Encouraging students to read material prior to scheduled lecture g.Assisting in providing feedback about written assignments h.Assisting in organizing ideas for essays i.Facilitating mentorship program and rap sessions.
8.Submit weekly attendance/grades to Academic Coordinator online.
9.Will assist in the processing of program evaluations.
10.Complete the Protection of Minors modules.
11.If a student requires an incident report, immediately text Residence Life Coordinator.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelors Degree.
