Job Summary: Development and Alumni Relations (DEVAR) office provides leadership in building enduring public trust, understanding, and support for UC Davis and its mission of teaching, research, and public service. DEVAR manages annual giving fundraising campaigns for the university, including Give Day. It also managed the Davis as UC it employee giving program, the Student Foundation, the Family Fellows Program, and the Davis Chancellor's Club.
As a key member of the DEVAR Annual and Special Gifts Program (ASGP) team, assists with achieving the fundraising and goals ASGP by creating digital marketing and communication materials that raise money for the colleges, schools and other units at UC Davis and UC Davis Health. ASGP also plays a role in building a philanthropic identity that will drive continuous, loyal support for the university now and in the coming years.
Under general direction of the Director of Marketing Communications, Annual and Special Gifts Program, responsible for the creation and dissemination of all email solicitations for ASGP. This includes using content provided, designing, creating in an email platform, managing data, and tracking analytics for several hundred emails a year.
In addition, will assist in the development and implementation of a crowdfunding program for UC Davis, including developing innovative and strategic ways to promote crowdfunding, crowdfunding site development, and working with unit partners to obtain projects and content for the site. This program will consist of at least two month-long campaigns annually as well as regular review and approval and projects throughout the year for those campaigns.
Provide support and maintain a family of websites, create mass email solicitation campaigns, and manage digital assets.
In addition, acts as an advocate and model of best practices on communications strategy, email solicitation, crowdfunding practices and fundraising content development.
Work Environment: Occasional work hours outside standard 8AM-5PM schedule.
Must provide own transportation to off-site events and meetings.
May be required to work in an open and/or shared office environment with multiple interruptions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Experience in annual giving, fundraising, communications, marketing, and/or public relations.
Experience delivering email campaigns using major email marketing platforms and maintaining an editorial calendar for multiple digital communication channels.
Experience designing, coding and testing HTML email templates with proven experience developing templates for multiple browsers and mobile devices.
Experience with web page layout/formatting languages utilizing HTML/CSS.
Experience creating professional quality multi-media projects, including video and graphics, writing content for digital/online vehicles, working with content management systems and developing assets for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and working with their APIs.
Experience managing Google analytics.
Strong organizational skills to synthesize ideas and direction from multiple project stakeholders and prioritize projects.
Interpersonal, oral and written communications skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations and resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with editors and writers, graphic designers, Web editors, videographers, and photographers.
Advanced skills and experience working with desktop publishing software Adobe CS6 programs, specifically Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Experience working in iModules, or a comparable email communications platform.
Experience working with Scalefunder, or a comparable crowdfunding platform.
Experience managing large sets of data for email list creation and metrics reporting.
Knowledge and understanding of fundraising and experience in formulating results-oriented communication strategies for a variety of audiences, preferably in an academic setting.
