Qualifications REQUIRED -Valid Orthopedic Technologist certification or completion of two years recent Orthopedic Technologist work. -Current CPR certification -Knowledge of practices and protocols related to medical office procedures. -Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, health care providers and insurance company representatives regarding appointments, services, procedures, authorizations and referrals. -Ability to accurately read/translate physician orders to ensure accurate completion. -Basic knowledge of health care insurance systems as related to required job functions for this position, such as coordinating patient care, including but not limited to, ordering diagnostic and ancillary services, coordinate patient prescriptions, authorizations or referrals, coordinate hospital services, appointing patients, coordinate orders for medical supplies/equipment or as needed for billing documentation. -Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding sufficient to assist with identifying services performed or coordination of care, for example, office services, home care, hospice care, DME, labs, radiology, and referrals.

Responsibilities The Orthopedic Tech, Sr. is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic good will for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. They provide non-licensed medical support to medical care providers for the department/clinical team for which it is assigned. Supervised by a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) when administering medications and performing or assisting with procedures. Works under the direction of a clinic manager (practice manager and/or nurse manager) for administrative purposes, including customer service, professional behavior & development, assignment & scheduling of work, and performance of job functions not requiring supervision by an LIP.
