To provide comprehensive data entry support to the Director of Advancement Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enter large quantities of data into The Raiser's Edge database with speed and a high degree of accuracy
Assist with the gift processing and donor tracking system
Assist in the production and preparation a variety of documents (ex. correspondence, gift transactions, mailing lists, prospect lists, etc.)
Ensure that 'clean', accurate biographical and gift data are maintained in the computer system
Produce, print and mail all gift acknowledgements on a daily basis (gifts are to be acknowledged within 24 hours of processing)
Assist in the cleanup of donor data, including but not limited to address updates and mailing preferences
Process, validate and import monthly gifts on regular schedule
Establish and maintain appropriate electronic and paper donor files
Assist with University special events and projects
Understanding the importance of how the data entered affects the entire program. Having or developing an overall understanding of data management and fundraising.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
.Assist other staff members with tasks, as assigned by the supervisor
Handling incoming calls, as needed
Assist with prospect research, if assigned by the supervisor
Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
Familiarity with database (especially, The Raiser's Edge), scanning and email programs strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong working knowledge of 10-key and data entry. Strong working knowledge of the English language (i.e. grammar, punctuation, spelling). Previous experience work on research projects helpful.
Abilities and Skills:
Effectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines.
Exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.
Very detail-oriented, fast and accurate.
Build rapport and effectively communicate with staff.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong oral/written communication, proofreading, customer service and interpersonal skills preferred.
Ten-key skills, data entry skills, and minimum 20 WPM typing required
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Information Technology, is preferred.
2-3 years of data entry experience within a fast-paced environment preferred.
