Each year, we receive around 7,000 applications. It is the responsibility of the Medical School Admissions Office to process those applications accurately and timely.
By providing administrative support to the Admissions Office, you play an important role in the first step of our students' journey at the IU School of Medicine, the largest medical school in the country.
In this key position, you will be the first point of contact for all guests visiting the Admissions Office. You will also be responsible for accurately tracking and maintaining the number of applications received from AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) for weekly statistical updates; accurately recording ineligible actions in AIS (our internal data system) and emailing applicants; processing incoming mail; answering questions and directing applicants in person or telephone; and scheduling appointments.
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience.
Proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel and comfortable learning and using other software systems.
Posses good interpersonal and communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to maintain focus while working on repetitive activities. Demonstrate ability to maintain a calmness under pressure, tight deadlines, and distractions.
Some college. Experience with Admissions Information System (AIS), Kuali, and OneStart.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Mainly a sedentary position while reviewing online data and using the computer. Regular attendance and good communication is required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without an accommodation.
