Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The College of Agriculture and Life Science at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a half-time Administrative Specialist I position to provide confidential, administrative support for the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC).
This position will provide professional administrative support to the director of NCRAC. Core responsibilities include managing the director's calendar and committee commitments; providing administrative support for NCRAC projects and reports; development of and facilitating communications and meeting needs; coordinating marketing needs such as newsletters and website; and serving as the center's liaison to the regional aquaculture industry community and college offices on campus.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, skills to stay focused, organized, and calm when faced with stressful situations, and interpersonal communication skills to interface with a variety of constituents. Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite are essential for success in this position. All employees are expected to interact collegially and in a professional manner and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling more than 4 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of administrative support in a confidential position. -Experience in a supervisory role
