Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Coach – Strength and Conditioning for Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position assists in the instructing and organizing of all aspects of the Strength & Conditioning Program including training, technical supervision, evaluation and preparation of practices and competition.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works in conjunction with the Head Coaches of designated sports in developing and administering strength and conditioning programs unique to individual sports and athletes to help develop the student-athlete to their full potential.
Works primarily with the Softball and Women’s Volleyball programs
Assists with other Olympic Sports as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of 1 year strength coaching experience with either Softball, Baseball or Volleyball at the Division 1 level.
Membership in and/or certification by an accredited professional organization (National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association) required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be CPR certified
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of strength training equipment
Graduate Degree in exercise science related field preferred.
Experience working with athlete monitoring systems, data analytics & sports technology preferred.
All weight room equipment, which would include free weights, machines and cardio vascular equipment.
Computer software is mainly Microsoft office.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Some travel may be required.
Employee must be able to effectively demonstrate common strength and conditioning exercises.
Must be able to lift 100 lbs off of the ground.
Position requires times of high physical activity.
