Southside Virginia Community College is seeking a motivated 12-month faculty member to oversee the Collegeâs Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE) program located at the Lake Country Advanced Knowledge Center (LCAKC) in South Hill, Virginia. This position will report to the Dean of Career and Occupational Technology and work with the Coordinator of LCAKC to facilitate the day to day operation of the program. The successful candidate must be committed to our mission to provide quality education to a diverse constituency. Specific duties include but are not limited to: â¢Assist the dean in scheduling IT classes within CITE. Schedule will include dual enrollment, workforce, and evening class offerings. â¢Work with the collegeâs marketing department to promote IT programs through multiple forms of media. This position will also schedule open houses, conduct tours of the lab, and visit local area high schools for recruitment. â¢The successful candidate will work with other full time and adjunct IT faculty to select appropriate text and class materials, work with the IT advisory committee, and to assist with program assessments. â¢Assists with student scheduling of CompTia and other IT credential testing onsite. â¢Advise CITE students towards completion of SVCC career studies certificates, certificates and degrees in Information Technology. â¢Assist the Collegeâs Foundation office with the administration of scholarship funds within the IT discipline. â¢Maintain positive relationships with the IT industry and assist with grant applications for resources to support the collegeâs mission. â¢Coordinates with the Director of Workforce to offer short term training opportunities in the CITE lab. â¢Manage LAKCâs CompTia study room tutors and resources. Other duties as assigned.
