Dr. Flora Sam of the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute, Boston University School of Medicine https://www.bumc.bu.edu/busm-wci/ is seeking a research technician. This candidate should be required to maintain tissue culture facilities and animal colonies. Will also need to perform assays (ELISAs), rtPCR and immunoblotting and assist other personnel in the lab. Additionally, data that is collected will need to be processed via computer spreadsheets. Standard duties such as monitoring and ordering/replenish inventory of supplies and prepare all buffer solutions will be needed. The Sam Lab is a translational cardiovascular research program http://www.bumc.bu.edu/samlab/ that centers on cardiac myocyte biology and regulation in heart failure. Experiments will involve genetically modified mice, cell culture and human biological samples.
At minimum, an undergraduate degree (BA or BSc) and 1-3 years' experience is required. Prior lab experience is a plus as are written communication skills. An ability to work within a team is also essential.
