At the Bobst International Center, our goal is to support international patients seeking clinical care at MSKCC. Our team acts as the liaison between international patients and the center to assist with arrangements related to visiting NY from afar, coordination of care at the center until the transition of care back to patients local treating physician.

Receive information (including pathology slides, radiology images and medical record documentation) and confirm information is complete and patient identifiers correspond. On a daily basis, hand deliver materials to the appropriate department to ensure expedited processing.
Work with Pathology and Radiology, confirm specimen matches information documented on accessioning drop-off log and initials to confirm receipt of materials.
Confirm receipt of all materials included on log.
Input information to Pathology and Radiology systems as necessary, and follow up with the Departments to ensure expedited processing and follow-up when delays exist.
Bring material to Departments for processing and scans material into tracking station.
Document transactions and communications in MSK systems.
Assist with triaging material received in accession area to appropriate labs (i.e., Flow, Microbiology, etc.). Hand deliver specimens to reference labs (i.e., New York Presbyterian and Microbiology Lab for HPV specimens).
Handle return of materials to patients or other facilities.
Provide coverage of the reception area when needed.
Use proper telephone techniques when placing callers on hold; provides options to callers (i.e. leave message or call back). Provide necessary information to caller when transferring calls to prepare caller in event that call is disconnected (i.e. the individual name and number to which call is being transferred). Always introduce self by name and department when contacting individuals outside the department and provides reason for call.
High School diploma plus two years experience in an advanced client-service setting.
Proficiency in a second language, Mandarin preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a highly interactive team.
Administrative ability to manage and track detailed information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9-5pm; with flexibility to work earlier or later as needed
