The Budget and Financial Manager is primarily responsible for financial, administrative, human resources and special projects related activities. Financial: Collaborates with the Assistant Vice Chancellor Budget and Finance in the development, reconciliation, monitoring and strategic planning of multiple RC's operating budget.
Responsible for completing budget modification requests (BMR), journal entries and adhoc budget to actual variance analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Serves as the lead for managing the Tableau financial system for multiple RC's. Serves as Travel Card (T-Card) Reviewer/Approver for multiple RC's travel cardholders. Assists with departmental internal audits. Serves as the Reviewer/Approver on a monthly basis for multiple p-card user activity. Completes P-Card Redistribution when necessary.
Administrative: Provides consultation and advice on University policies and procedures. Develop ideas and criteria for influencing University professionals that supports our office mission; To InterCONNECT administrators and provide guidance for university business processes and procedures within areas of Financial activities, Human Resources and Compliance functions. Assists with InterCONNECT SharePoint related topics. Maintains RC/Departmental database, Human Resources, Compliance, Access Forms, and etc. Assists with compliance related matters, such as, Conflict of Interest (COI), Customer Information Security Plan (CISP), Control Self Assessment (CSA), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and etc. Serves as the coordinator for the university sponsorship process. Works closely with university departments identifying sponsorship requests.
Human Resources: Serves as the Talent Center Student Worker and Temporary Staff recruitment and hiring Approver . Serves as Student Worker Supervisor. Develop performance management metrics that identifies outcomes. Manages the onboarding process for student workers. Assist with coordinating the onboarding orientation process for staff. Provide training workshops for financial, human resources and compliance related topics.
Special Projects: As directed by Assistant Vice Chancellor Budget and Finance. Assist with the strategic planning related to the University Strategic Plan. Perform benchmarking of various institutions. Assists with carrying out Engagement Team's vision; To promote and support the realization of the highest aspirations of Pitt and its people.
At least three years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Experience in a higher education business environment is preferred.
