SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE , Earth Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) , to join the Fournier Laboratory, assisting with the development of bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing the early evolutionary history of metabolic genes across diverse groups of microbes and eukaryotes. This work includes sequence database management and curation and performing large-scale phylogenetic analyses, including the detection of horizontal gene transfer events and the implementation of molecular clocks.
REQUIRED : experience in laboratory-based research and computational, analytical, and sequence skill sets; awareness of basic safety issues and the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team. A bachelor's degree in biology or related field is preferred. Job #17583-4
