ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2 , Sloan School of Management , to perform diverse duties for faculty and an academic area and provide administrative support for multiple programs and projects. Will schedule appointments and meetings; make travel arrangements and prepare multifaceted itineraries; use broad understanding of policies and procedures to respond to inquiries, provide explanations and instructions, and ensure inquiries are resolved; compose and edit correspondence and documents; resolve complicated issues in a thorough and timely manner; design PowerPoint presentations; use desktop publishing to create drafts of work area publications; coordinate complex mass mailings; input, update, and maintain web content; monitor and order inventory, working within established supply budgets; maintain databases; research and gather information for projects; coordinate high-profile events and seminars; assist with the preparation of materials such as grant proposals, tenure cases, and site visits; monitor and reconcile accounting statements; prepare and process purchasing, accounting, and travel forms; attend high-level meetings and record minutes; train others regarding policies and procedures; serve as liaison between faculty and other groups; and perform related duties as requested.
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years' administrative, office, or related experience; understanding of own work and how it impacts other areas of MIT/Sloan and outside the work unit; advanced computer software skills and ability to identify and learn new programs/software and easily negotiate the internet to perform complex searches; excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to represent the work area and the larger MIT community.
