WRITER , Office of the President , to develop and refine messaging for a wide range of written materials, including remarks, correspondence, quotes, talking points, website text, and reports. Will ensure that all communications reflect the president's priorities, style, and values; conduct research to understand the subject matter and audience for a particular engagement; work with a team that identifies strategic speaking opportunities for the president and assesses invitations the president receives to speak; and review and revise drafts submitted by others.
REQUIRED : at least three years' experience in communications; a bachelor's degree; ability to demonstrate a sharp ear for and willingness to adapt to the president's voice and enthusiasm for MIT's distinctive mission and culture; tact, diplomacy, and the ability to collaborate; discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues; organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to anticipate needs and set priorities, assume responsibility, and work both independently and as part of a team.
