The Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department in the College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center are recruiting to fill a full-time faculty position in veterinary anatomic pathology with emphasis on comparative and experimental pathology. This position will provide leadership and comprehensive pathology support for the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center Comparative Pathology Shared Resource (CPSR) which is a cutting-edge pathology research laboratory that provides comprehensive pathology support and expertise to researchers using animal models in their research projects. The CPSR is located in the College of Veterinary Medicine on the St. Paul campus.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for the CPSR, will be responsible for anatomic pathology support for all CPSR projects, and engage in collaborative and/or independent research (90% effort total). Additional responsibilities include teaching pathology (lectures and laboratories) to professional students, and mentoring pathology residents (10% effort). The position will be contract faculty at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor based on credentials.
The candidate must have a DVM (or equivalent foreign degree), and board certification in anatomic pathology (ACVP and/or ECVP) is highly desirable. Other desirable attributes include experience in laboratory animal pathology, a strong interest and background in research including (an) advanced research degree(s), and expertise and interest in cancer biology and pathology.
