The role of the Electronic Communications Manager is to lead the development of effective electronic communications strategies in line with the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs’ strategic priorities. The right candidate has demonstrated experience in strategic electronic communications, including websites, mass email and social media; keen attention to detail and deadlines; strong writing, design, and communications skills; and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment with wide-ranging activities and diverse internal and external constituencies. The Electronic Communications Manager reports to the Director of Communications for the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs (OACA).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Electronic Communications Design/Development – 50% • Create, execute and evaluate internal and external electronic communications that meet OACA’s strategic goals and adhere to University web, email and social media standards. • Lead website development and usability evaluation for OACA. • Manage mass email initiatives, which include creating templates and messages, managing recipient lists and email listservs. • Identify opportunities to continuously drive website improvement.
Content Management – 35% • Write and edit content, and provide and/or oversee design for electronic mediums. • Serve as the go-to expert in web content strategy, information architecture, planning, trends, analytics, and measurement, training, and troubleshooting. • Lead, plan, and develop new electronic communications projects in line with the strategies to increase the reputation of the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs. • Ensure content across all OACA web sites is current.
Reporting, Training & Resource Development – 15% • Use analytics and evaluate audience behaviors to recommend strategic changes to electronic communications to achieve desired behavioral outcomes. • Engage and consult with internal stakeholders on electronic communications strategies, best practices and industry trends. • Evaluate emerging opportunities in electronic communications for promoting the value of OACA to various stakeholders. • Build relationships across the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs and between OACA and other collegiate web contacts and engage with the University web/Drupal community. • Work with Director of Communications to develop and recommend website policies and processes.

Required Qualifications: • BA/BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field plus 4 years of professional experience. • Strong writing and editing skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Cloud, including Photoshop and Acrobat Pro. • Proficiency utilizing web content management systems and Google Analytics. • Experience writing website copy and utilizing search engine optimization best practices. • Demonstrated understanding of how to utilize key social media channels for communications and marketing purposes. • Strong verbal and demonstrated written communications skills. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. • A high degree of professionalism. • Attention to detail, quality and follow-through. • Experience utilizing mass email tools. • Demonstrated ability to work within complex organizations. • Ability to work independently and on a team.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred experience with HTML, photography and video editing.
