The Alumni Relations Coordinator works with and reports to the Associate Director of On-Campus Engagement, Alumni and Constituent Relations. This position is embedded within an academic College and works directly with the Dean of the College, Associate Dean(s), Chairs of the respective programs within the College, and the Development Officer assigned to the College by University Advancement.
The Alumni Relations Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for Alumni Relations within the College of Business working directly with Faculty, Students and Alumni in order to facilitate a College wide mentorship program and oversee the development of communications targeted to alumni. The Coordinator also supervises a team of student employees that provide direct support to the communication and programmatic areas overseen by the Coordinator.
The Alumni Coordinator will work collaboratively with event, career, advising and other professional staff within the College to advise and make recommendations on logistical and program elements to help ensure an effective alumni engagement and moves management program is sustained.
The Alumni Relations Coordinator helps to illuminate the alumni network and provide professional development opportunities for existing students while helping to steward and cultivate Alumni into a deeper relationship with the institution and the College of Business.
Bachelor’s Degree or any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience implementing professional programs on short deadlines and delivering diverse and complex projects.
Experience preparing and managing budgets and resources.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate volunteers and staff members to achieve intended program outcomes.
Experience in establishing programs and services that align with and support organization mission and goals.
Ability to accurately deliver work and with high level of detail for outward facing information.
Knowledge of marketing, public relations and special event planning, methods and techniques.
Proficient computer competencies in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Business, Communication, Public Relations or related field.
Experience developing or managing mentorship programs and relationships.
Professional work experience in a higher education setting.
Experience in alumni relations or development.
Knowledge of higher education Board policy/procedure.
