Qualifications REQUIRED -At least one year inpatient NP experience -Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing. -Possession of valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license. -Furnishing license -UCD DEA Certification (upon hire or maintain certification) -National NP Board Certification in aligned specialty with the practice area -Current American Heart Association CPR, PALS, and ACLS -ATLS within 6 months of hire
PREFERRED -At least one year clinical experience in the care of trauma patients -Recent acute care, ED, and/or ICU experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT -Ability to work flexible/variable hours -Able to lift 25 pounds -Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider -THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
Responsibilities To provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on the trauma service. This includes the hospital management of patients presenting with trauma or acute care surgery conditions. The position includes emergency department initial management and stabilization, team based care for hospitalized patients and follow up clinics. Patient management decisions will be independent where appropriate after assessment of the patient and interdependent with consultation with an attending or other member of the team. NPs are expected to act as an expert resource person for health care providers including nurses, residents and other ancillary staff.
