Rider University invites applications for an Assistant Vice President, Auxiliary Services. Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities & University Operations, this individual will provide direction and oversight for all Auxiliary Services operations and programs including the conference services program, space rental, the Student Recreation Center, campus scheduling, event management, vending contracts, bookstore, printing press, mail services, transportation, Bart Luedeke Center operations, auxiliary language programs and all non-academic space utilization. The Assistant Vice President, Auxiliary Services will have direct supervision of the contracted provider for the food service operations which include: daily operations of 3 dining areas, budgeting, pricing, menu management, catering, food trucks, event management, concessions and conference operations.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' prior management experience in Auxiliary Operations that could include dining services, business conferences, marketing, university store, mail/print services and events in a higher education setting preferred. Additional qualifications include: strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; exceptional organizational and customer service skills; be self-motivated with the ability to instruct and lead; the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage effectively in crisis situations; and strong supervisory and technology skills. A Master's degree and 12 years' experience in conference services or hospitality management, in a higher education setting is preferred. A high level of computer program experience that could include Banner, CS Gold, Micros and Excel is preferred.
