The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) invites qualified candidates to apply for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Management position (starting date: August 16, 2019). Candidates must be willing and qualified to teach upper level undergraduate and MBA courses in strategic management, management, and other business-related fields in both traditional and online settings. This is a 9-month full-time teaching, research and service position. Candidates must possess a doctorate in business or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution; ABD candidates meeting the same qualifications will be considered. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Courses are taught on the USC Aiken campus located in Aiken, South Carolina. Other courses are taught online in support of the USC Aiken Palmetto College concentration in Management and the USC Aiken MBA. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours (four courses) per semester when teaching undergraduate courses, and 9 credit hours when teaching one or more graduate courses. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is preferred. Online teaching experience is preferred, but not required. USC Aiken School of Business online teaching faculty must complete an online teaching certification course, unless the faculty member already possesses similar credentials.
Candidates must be willing to serve, as assigned, on both USC Aiken committees and USC Aiken School of Business Administration (SOBA) committees. Service engagements in the local community related to the faculty member's professional area of expertise are expected in accordance with AACSB engagement and impact guidelines. The position requires the academic advising of USC Aiken students.
Candidates must demonstrate the potential or ability to conduct scholarly research of sufficient quality and quantity to satisfy SOBA guidelines for AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification.
