This is a shared position between two key areas. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Philanthropy with a dotted line to the Director, Strategy & Planning, the Coordinator, Campaign Planning & Institutional Strategy will offer strong administrative support to two related and distinct programs to further Fred Hutchs ambitious goals. This hybrid role will coordinate multiple aspects of the impending philanthropic campaign working to ensure the successful and strategic execution of a wide range of activities, including campaign planning, launch, and implementation. Additionally, the Coordinator, Campaign Planning & Institutional Strategy will assist with strategic planning activities and reporting for the institution. This critical communication role acts as an important liaison for constituents and is responsible for providing accurate and timely information both in response to and in anticipation of requests. The successful candidate will exhibit dependability and willingness to work as an integral member of the Philanthropy and Strategy teams and be capable of working well within all levels of the organization. The Coordinator is expected to take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently and collaboratively with team members. Must maintain professionalism, show flexibility, handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, and remain composed under pressure of deadlines. The Coordinator must be able to effectively communicate the mission, values, and scope of the institution.
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance was incorporated in 1998 as a separate, jointly governed non-profit that included the cancer programs of three partners. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center that unites doctors from Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and Seattle Children’s. The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
