The Network Installer Asisstant assists technicians and business administration personnel do a wide variety of tasks. Multiple positions available.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Pulling cables through ceilings and wall cavities, through conduit and in cable tray.
Moving materials and equipment from building to building in order to allow the experienced installers to work more efficiently.
Escorting contractors as they work in occupied dorms and allowing them access into dorm rooms and equipment closets.
Must be somewhat mechanically inclined as they may be asked to work power drills and saws at certain times
Work without sitting for 3 hours stretches
Ability to work beyond 8 hours a day
Stand or walk up to 2 - 4 hours at one time for a total of 6 - 8 hours per day or more when needed;
Sit for less than 2 hours during an 8 hour day or more when needed;
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing at ~50 pounds
Lift or carry up to 75 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the workday);
Push or pull using forces up to 100 pounds occasionally (less than 33 % of the workday);
Frequently use hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, or pulling (34 – 66% of the workday);
Bend, squat, kneel, or climb stairs or ladders, reach or lift overhead, knee stand, push or pull, or use a hammer drill occasionally (less than 33% of the work day);
Lift up to 50 pounds in a range of motions from floor to overhead and 75 pounds in a range of motions from floor to chest height;
Work outdoors under a range of environmental and temperature conditions;
Climb up to 4 flights of stairs, climb up to 24 foot ladder, work on roof tops, or in crawl spaces, attics, basements, manholes or steam tunnels in awkward body positions for periods of up to 4 hours at one time;
Possess physical agility, full range of motion, and ability to maintain balance.
