The Administrative Assistant in the Commencement Office will serve as the primary initial contact for all visitors and inquiries, providing the highest level of customer service to students, parents, and others, including University administrators and faculty, and vendors, seeking information and/or assistance via phone and e-mail. S/he will work independently to maintain efficient customer service and general office operations including the maintenance of accurate files, records, and documentation; scheduling of meetings. S/he will provide event support (planning, communication, on-site) as needed.
The position requires an Associate's degree, and/or 3 years of experience in office management; strong professional communication skills, both written and oral; excellent computer skills, with particular emphasis on Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Access, and use of reporting tools and capabilities. Also required are strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to function independently as well as a member of the team, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, attend to detail, and problem solve. Applicants must be physically capable of climbing stairs, 2 levels, as building does not have an elevator.
