This is a DevOps position working on the PanDA (Production and Distributed Analysis) Software team. PanDA is a workload management system for the ATLAS experiment providing access to the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid. The successful candidate will be involved in development and support of the software framework: which includes backend services (PanDA server and JEDI), edge services (Harvester), the job execution processes (Pilot), and other services including monitoring.
Software development in Python, REST interface and other common libraries used in High Energy Physics. Requires working on collaborative open source software (PanDA), under supervision from team leaders. Provide support to PanDA users in the ATLAS Experiment. Travel to CERN (Geneva, Switzerland) as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Computer Science. Minimum (two 2) years experience in DevOps of production quality software.
Post baccalaureate degree. Strong technical skills in: Linux, python development and database interactions (Oracle and MySQL). Experience with distributed computing and HPCs. Self-motivated, responsible, capacity to work in a team.
