The Corporate Engagement Researcher assists in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of corporations by managing internal and external intelligence for the stewardship of organizational relationships. Curates and maintains accurate and useful data on corporate philanthropy and engagement. Serves as a researcher and data analyst expert for both development and sponsored research reporting and database queries. Acts as staff support representative for the corporate engagement team.
Administers & maintains existing strategic plans including presenting a persuasive verbal and written case to prospects for supporting key programs and projects, effectively matching the interests of prospects to specific needs.
Maintains intelligence collected to benefit university and corporate contacts on future initiatives.
Assists in the facilitation of proposals and ensures effective stewardship.
Involves moderate level of collaboration with internal department partners and moderate level of collaboration with University partners to identify & integrate resources in order to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.
Partner with technology groups on campus (i.e. ADEA, NUIT) to accomplish strategic goals.
Collaborate with schools/units on their overall corporate engagement information needs.
Prospects & Gifts
Partners with other areas of development.
Models best practices and evaluates closed prospects, recommends changes to ensure successful completion of objectives and goals.
Utilizes sophisticated databases and tools to identify and prioritize corporate prospects for Corporate Engagement teams across campus, administrators within schools and student groups.
Analyze internal and external intelligence to understand the key prospects that align with University initiatives.
Reviews the prospect pool and develops relationships by working with faculty and administrative leaders to submit proposals to prospective donors.
Tracks and documents progress and associated notes.
Prepares briefings on key prospects and writes descriptions of suggested funding opportunities that will lead to compelling proposals.
Maintains project/prospect status reports; reviews reports to ensure all organizational funding and other data is reported correctly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
2 years of experience working in development, academic unit, industry, or private foundation setting or other relevant experience is required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Self-motivated with excellent persuasive writing skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and good independent judgment.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent problem solving, research and project management skills.
Proficient in business research databases and knowledge management practices.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Library science or related degree.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Knowledge of CRM software, databases and document management.
Expertise with Tableau and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
