This position acts as a technically-focused coordinator/project manager for special digital resource projects in the External Relations (ER) Group. The ER Group is responsible for LDC’s membership, publications and communications functions. Special projects are targeted to improve/enhance ER services related to data delivery, communications and digital resources best practices, among other areas. Examples of special projects include: developing a digital bibliography of research papers based on LDC data; comprehensive review and update of LDC online catalog holdings; benchmarking digital resources best practices; and content management system development for ER communications.
Primary responsibilities include:
1. Project development. Work with the Associate Director to design project parameters, addressing group needs as identified by the Associate Director. Develop project statement of work, specifications and other project documentation.
2. Project execution/team management. Lead project execution with assistance of designated ER staff. As needed, hire, train and supervise part-time temporary workers. Plan, assign and coordinate team tasking and workflow.
3. Project coordination. Coordinate day-to-day project activities. Work with Associate Director and others as directed to develop project timelines and milestones; monitor and report progress to Associate Director and stakeholders; create internal and external project documentation. Work with technical staff to design and test user interfaces and project technical infrastructure.
