The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications and nominations for the position of Coordinator I in the Office of Multicultural Student Life. This is an exempt, 12 month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position. The Division: The Division of Student Life is comprised of over 400 staff that serve our students through 19 departments and functions. Staff are actively engaged in the lives of our students, living and learning with them in our residence halls, student union, and other campus environments. The Division seeks candidates willing to engage, challenge, and support our students through intentional programs, services and resources. The Position: Reporting to the Office of Multicultural Student Life/Dean of Students Office, the Coordinator I is responsible for large-scale student leadership development retreats, workshops and trainings. This position will work closely with multiple student organizations and coordinate programs and services that positively impact student organizational advisement, engagement and success.
Responsibilities: The Coordinator I will directly advise multiple cultural student organizations and assist students in the planning, production, and assessment of programs, and negotiating contractual offers with agents. In addition, the Coordinator I will organize annual student leadership development retreats, workshops, and meetings, and develop initiatives geared towards supporting and expanding programs and services for underrepresented student populations. The Coordinator I will serve as a resource for students, the Office of Multicultural Student Life, and assist with Division of Student Life events, programs and committees. The Coordinator I will also serve the University of Tennessee on various committees and off campus by participation in professional associations.
