The Lead Web Analytics Engineer will serve as the domain expert in Google Analytics across the university for marketing and technical users. This position will be responsible for administering and implementing all technical and functional capabilities of enterprise Google Analytics 360. This role will provide thought leadership, influence architecture and business processes, and collaborate with marketers, analysts and developers.
The Lead Web Analytics Engineer ensures taxonomies, tags and integrations with other systems are leveraged to support data collection, analytics, insights and targeting. This position creates custom tracking solutions based on a measurement plan, documents solution design and maps analytics variables to defined requirements. This role defines key performance indicators (KPIs) and implements solutions enabling stable architecture for capturing robust data. Creates data layer specifications and Tag Management System rules using Google Tag Manager for best practice implementation of website and media analytics tracking. This position employs, promotes and documents tagging, segmentation and targeting best practices at Indiana University. Manages native and API integrations of web analytics and marketing tag implementations. This role collaborates with other analysts and engineers to combine and interpret data from multiple sources to uncover relevant insights, trends and optimization criteria. This position must be comfortable explaining how web analytics data is collected, processed and reported, and have the ability to document expertise and train others. Evangelizes the usage of enterprise Google Analytics 360 across the university.
