We are seeking an Evening Student Development Specialist who will assist with the planning, and implementation of student development initiative and programs. The Student Development Specialist will also supervise all evening personnel and activities. The Evening Student Development Specialist will act proactively to deliver quality services to students, faculty, and staff of the Passaic Academic Center and will be sensitive to the needs of its community.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties:
Develop programs and activities that integrate advising with career and life planning
Provide enrollment services to students including academic advisement, creating academic plans, transfer assistance, career development, financial aid workshops and registration
Assist with testing activities as needed
Collaborate with faculty and staff to plan and carry out extracurricular activities and events
Assist faculty with administrative and technical requests
Make referrals to social and community agencies and College offices on behalf of students who may need assistance with a variety of needs
Participate in the crisis intervention process as needed
Teach assigned sections of the College Success course
Perform other duties as assigned
Master's Degree in Student Development, Counseling, Education or related field required
At least two (2) years of experience in student development or student services in higher education required
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, technical and organizational skills required
The ability to work evening and week and hours is required
The scheduled hours will be Monday - Thursday 2:00p - 10:00p, and Fridays 8:30a - 4:30p. Some Saturdays might be required. Overtime hours will be required when building is open extended hours on certain occasions. Subject to change when classes are not in session and during summer terms.
