We are seeking an Academic Enrichment Specialist who will deliver a variety of educational and tutorial services.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties:
Ensures that ARC student attendance data is appropriately captured and reviewed.
Monitors the workflow of the ARC and implements strategies to maximize utilization of the space and resources
Administers ARC Climate and Culture surveys to gauge student assessments of ARC services
Provides direct tutoring during the academic year and the EOF Summer Program
Provides outreach efforts to EOF students identified to, academic workshops and supplemental instruction
Establishes tutor schedules and ensures appropriate, timely documentation of work hours
Reinforces established ARC policies and procedures for students using the space and resources
Maintains the established academic lab referral system for students who require tutoring at other academic support units at the college
Carries out other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program
Bachelor's degree required. Previous experience as a tutor or teacher, required
Experience tutoring college students
Ability to maintain records and files in a timely manner
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and in interpersonal interactions
Ability to work with a diverse team of faculty, staff, and students
Sensitivity to the needs of the student population of an urban community college
Proficient use of the Microsoft suite including, but not limited to, Word and Excel
Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings
