Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: A full-time 12-month staff position for the Department of Nursing to assist and support student learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a physical and psychological environment consistently conducive to optimum learning via simulation.
Plan the schedule in collaboration with course faculty and Nursing Simulation Center Coordinator for utilization of the Nursing Simulation Center.
Collaborates with faculty and simulation coordinator in designing, planning, implementing and evaluating simulation education activities, and curriculum materials to support the student achievement of nursing program outcomes.
Consult regularly with course faculty regarding simulated learning activity needs for students and their related behavioral expectations and performance.
Maintain the Nursing Simulation Center facility and its operation.
Engage in scholarly activities.
RELATED DUTIES: Develop and maintain expertise in simulated learning sufficient to support student learning activities and collaborate with course faculty in planning and evaluation of student learning.
Maintain the inventory of consumables and nonconsumables essential to simulated learning.
Coordinate set up and supplies for simulated learning activities.
Participate in student instruction related to simulated learning activities.
Assume responsibilities of Nursing Simulation Center Coordinator in his/her absence.
Consult with the Dean and Director(s)/Department Chair(s) as appropriate regarding the status and operation of the Nursing Simulation Center.
Provide orientation to the Nursing Simulation Center, the use of human patient simulators, and related AV equipment.
Ensure student compliance with lab Nursing Simulation Center policies/procedures and safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MSN, experience with simulation, license to practice nursing in Michigan, teaching experience.
Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
