The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, together with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, seeks a full-time tenure-eligible Investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to lead a newly formed Division of Genomic Pathology. The successful applicant will be a leader in human genomics, with an emphasis in cancer and translation, and will be responsible for developing the vision and strategy for an innovative and nationally recognized Division. Laboratory space will be provided and numerous NIH-supported training grants are available for pre- and post-doctoral trainees in translational cancer genomics research. The Division will include the current Diagnostic Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics Laboratories, which together provide outstanding clinical services to Northwestern Medicine HealthCare patients and oversee the training of Molecular Pathology Fellows and Pathology Residents. There will be resources and opportunities for development and expansion of research interests within these clinical laboratories, the candidate’s own research laboratory and in the NuSeq Core in the Center for Genetic Medicine. Coordination of research efforts across these laboratories to support oncology and other clinical groups will be essential to the success of the Division as we strive to lead the nation in the era of personalized medicine.
Qualified candidates will hold MD, PhD or MD/PhD degrees and have demonstrated national leadership capabilities in cancer genomics, with a federally-funded independent research program and experience in clinical translation. Applicants should have experience working with clinical molecular pathology/cytogenetics diagnostic labs and have a strong record of translational cancer research and clinical innovation in cancer clinical genomics. Rank and remuneration determined by qualifications and experience.
