The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Medicine Division of Pulmonary Medicine. Under the general direction and supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of clinical research/trial coordination for assigned studies conducted in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM).
The Clinical Research Coordinator will work with the PI and his group of internationally recognized researchers participating in federal and/or industry-sponsored research projects. The incumbent will assist with study design, implementation of study protocols, subject recruitment, consenting, scheduling and facilitating study visits, data collection, biological sample collection, processing, storage and shipment, and maintaining electronic research data and documents/case report forms and source documents. Administrative tasks include facilitating meetings, answering queries, and handling invoices.
Involvement in clinic work will be required including the performance of phlebotomy with minor laboratory skills, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function and other study procedures as mandated by study protocols. Other duties will be required as assigned by supervisor. Flexible hours may be necessary given the uncertainty of subject flow in research studies.
Bachelors's degree in scientific or clinical field with less than 1 year of experience is preferred, however not required, and significant additional experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelors Degree. Experience with University paperwork/documents as well as IRB submissions favorable.
